D1 Ballast Replacement retro fit

The D1 ballast on factory fitted spec cars is commonly seen on later Porsches, including the Panamera, Aston Martins, Cayenne, BMW and Land rover to name but a few.

Autolights D1 Ballast Replacement kit includes the ballast and all necessary wiring to get the lights on you vehicle working again.

Our D1 ballast kit, simply ‘piggy bags’ on the existing set up, so you do not need to remove the existing factory fitted D1 ballast saving you time and cost, and making to whole process easier for a DIY novice.

Its a 4 step process to connect the D1 ballast.

1. Source the positive and negative wires in the cars wiring loom (in or going to the headlamp).
2. Connect the red wire to the positive / live wire on cars original wiring loom.
3. Connect the black wire to the negative / earth on the cars original wiring loom.
4. Connect the high tension wire to the D1c/r/s bulb.

This is a simple 4 step process to replace the D1 ballast on your vehicle.

The side lights (as seen in the grills on the bottom) are h6w.

The h6w halogen bulbs are a standard fitment on the most porsches.

The h6w led bulbs usually produce on board errors on the porsche system.

Enter the canbus h6w error free led bulb.

We call the h6w bulb a ba9xs, it is exactly the same fitment as a h6w bulb, were a standard h6w led bulb will produce error codes, our ba9xs canbus led bulbs get around that annoying problem.

This Porsche’s  factory fitted D2S bulbs had blown and to be honest the car wasn’t even that old!

Autolights replaced this 997 factory fitted D2S 4300k bulbs at a fraction of the cost.

Although only one D2S bulb had blown, we replaced the pair, uprated the temperature to 6000k and fitted it for free.

PORSCHE

Again hard to believe that a car like the porsche does not have xenon lights as standard!

The owner of this GT3 purchased our H7 hid conversion kit online via a different retailer, but decided he would like autolights to finish the job, and do the install.

The conversion on the Porsche GT3 took less than an hour and the end result is here for you to see.

This Porsche unlike other 996 models required addtional bulb holders to facilitate the H7 hid conversion.

We even upgraded the side lights with Ba9xs canbus side lights.

Once the hid kit was secured and installed there were no errors.

D2S ballast

When your factory fitted D2S ballast fails you (and it will eventually!), there is no need to pay over the odds for the D2S ballast.

Autolights offer a range of products to get your lights back upto speed.

The D2S ballasts can be by-passed using our D2S ballast repair kits which are specifically designed to fix the problem.

And the great thing about this is that you do not even have to remove the factory fitted D2S ballast!

Simply take the D2S ballast supplied by Autolights.co.uk along with the D2S harness, and connect the power feed cables from the D2S ballast repair kit to the cars existing live and earth wires (source these wires from the plug that goes into the rear of the headlight housing).

The Ba9Xs side light upgrade, is ideally suited to your porsche.

The canbus Side lights avoid any errors showing on the on board computer.
