Many people call us and ask us the following:
Q: Is it true that if i want to change the colour of my HID lights i need to change the ballasts?
A: NO!, If you are using a 35w kit, you can use any hid bulb (obvioulsy you want the same fit, e.g, H1,H3,H4,H7,H8,H9,H10,H11,H12,H15,9004,9005,9006,9007) providing it is a 35w bulb.
Q: I have changed a faulty ballast and the light is now burning at a different intesnity why?
A: When you use different ballasts sometimes the light output may suffer. This is because a given HID ballast will have set parameters, so if you mix two different types of HID ballasts, then their may be a variation in the light output.
In short if you buy a hid conversion kit / xenon conversion kit with a set colour in mind e.g. 4300k, and at a later date you decide you want to change the hid colour, then its a simple as picking the shade be it 6000k, 8000k, 10000k or beyond, and replacing the bulb!
