Audi HID KIT Problems

So you have an Audi!

Ok, here are some things we keep hearing about over and over again (thankfully not about our stuff).

Q. I installed a HID kit on my Audi and my wiper motor does not work – HELP

Q. After installation, the on board computer on my Audi has gone crazy, my dash board is lit up like a christmas tree!

Q. After installation, my ABS warning light on my Audi stays alight.

Q. After installation, my auto lights function on my Audi do not work.

A. – In a nut shell, a pretty cheap kit, that is not earthed and is not even a stage 1 canbus kit (where you may be required to use an OBC cancelling unit).

Audi vehicles are notoriously bad, when it comes to after market HID kits, if there is one car that will go wrong, its an AUDI.

It is widely reported when you install a sub standard HID KIT on an Audi, that the wiper motor burns out, this is because the earth on the wiper motorĀ  is shared with the earth (negative) of the dipped beam lights. So on an Audi, when you put a cheap HID kit in that frankly isn’t up to the job, you are asking for trouble.

What some garages will advise you to do is to cut the earth wire on wiper motor (if its still working) and earth that wire either to the negative of the battery or to the body.

Another problem is the ABS and random lights appearing on the dash board of your AUDI, again, because of the voltage drop / spike it can wreak havoc on the electrics.

The auto lights function is sometimes affected with cheaper HID kits.

Our all in one HID kit is the one to use with your AUDI, no doubt, it even comes with an earthing cable for this particular car, which we advise you use, this way, any surges / spikes are dealt with without damaging the circuitry on the AUDI.

hid 6000k kit with ba9xs canbus

A little fiddly but this Audi TT had a H7 hid conversion kit installed in next to no time.

The lights had to be removed , but this was straight forward enough.

We used a H7 Canbus conversion kit, and upgraded the side lights with the ba9xs canbus leds.

The autolights canbus hid kit gave no error messages or no faults.

The colour of the hid kit was 6000k.

Total conversion time: 55minutes.

This vehicle required the canbus pro set up on both the dipped beam and fog lights.

The kits used were a H7 HID kit in 6000k for the dipped beam, and another H7 HID kit for the fog lights.

The parking lights were simply upgraded using the T10 Canbus led.

Installation time for the HID KIT on the Audi took 1.5hrs approx.

No errors, anti glare lighting.
